Answer:

1) The hollow organs that make up the GI tract are the mouth, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, and anus. The liver, pancreas, and gallbladder are the solid organs of the digestive system.

2) (or esophagus) is also called the gullet. It is the part of the gastrointestinal system between the mouth and the stomach

3) There are three pairs of salivary glands (parotid, submandibular, and sublingual glands) and two ducts (Stensen's and salivary ducts) on either side of the oral cavity.

4) Largest digestive gland in the body is liver. Its most important function is to secrete bile juice, which helps in the emulsification of fats.

5) Hydrochloric acid is an essential acid in the stomach. It helps destroy bacteria, as well as other harmful species. It also works as a preservative of food. HCl converts pepsinogen which is not active into pepsin to metabolize proteins in our stomach.

6) The small intestine has millions of tiny finger-like projections called villi. These villi increase the surface area for more efficient food absorption. Within these villi, are present numerous blood vessels that absorb the digested food and carry it to the bloodstream.
