The secularist notion is judiciously followed in India but practically it is followed in some places while some of them still doesn't consider these.

Explanation:

Though secularism is an important pillar of the constitution , however its implementation is still weak. People still believe in caste system and Dalits and lower castes people are looked down upon by upper castes especially in remote corners of the country. Secularism as a concept means that religions and religious considerations will be excluded from decision making and civic affairs. Simply put the caste and creed of an group or individual will not affect and their rights as such as rights to equality and right to freedom as citizens of the country.
