India being  a large and diverse country it has many religions, to protect this religions and minority community India had put forward many rules and regulation as our constitution provide right to equality and freedom.

To promote secularism India dont even have an official religion

But in many parts of India this is not practically implemented even today. but it is changing a lot now days and the government is taking necessary actions

For instance, if a large percentage of Muslims live in a particular area, then the dominant religion in that area would be Islam, and they would try to hinder religious practices of Hindus living in that area.

There are many instances when temples are destroyed in Muslim dominated areas and mosques are destroyed in Hindu dominated areas. So, secularism does not give practical right to equality and freedom to its citizens.
