Let the Sohail age be 'x'

then saumya age be 'x-5'

Sohail age was = x-5

Saumya age 5 years ago= x-5-5=x-10

According to the question

5 years ago the sum of their ages was 55 years

then ,our Equation becomes:

=>x-5+x-10=55

=>x+x-5-10=55

=>2x-15=55

=>2x= 70

=>x= 70/2=35

x=35

hence,Sohail's present age is 35 years

Saumya's present age =x-5=35-5=30 years
