Explanation:

=>5x+7/2=3/2x-14

taking LCM to both sides

=>2(5x)+7)2=3x-2(14)/2

=>10x+7/2=3x-28/2----(1)

cross multiply to both sides

=>2(10x+7)=2(3x-28)

=>20x+14=6x-56

=>20x-6x=-56-14

=>14x=-70

=>x= -70÷14= -5

=>x= -5

Or we can also solve from Equation (1)

since, 2 lies on both sides so,it gets automatically cancelled

=>10x+7=3x-28

=>10x-3x=-28-7

=>7x=-35

=>x= -35÷7

=>x= -5

Check:

5x+7/2= 3/2x-14

taking LHS

=>5(-5)+7/2

=>-25+7)2

=>-50+7/2

=>-43/2

taking RHS

=>3/2x-14

=>3/2×-5-14

=>-15/2-14

=>-15-28/2

=> -43/2

Since,LHS = RHS (Verified)
