Objects that can emit light energy by themselves are known as luminous objects. The luminous objects are visible as they emit light on their own. The non-luminous objects are visible because of luminous objects. The sun and candle are the two examples.

Luminous object
the objects which have their own light i.e. they can produce their own light is called luminous object.
Example : sun, star, tube light, etc.
Non - Luminous object
the objects which cannot produce their own light i.e. they do not have their own light called Non luminous object.
Example : moon, human beings, table, etc.
