The situation of the Arabs before Islam is called Jahilyyah. Or in simple English, pre-Islamic ‘ignorance’. No society has descended to the depths of ignorance as the Arabs had descended before Islam. Dividing it up to better understand

Social conditions:

Social conditions in Arab society was very bad. Drinking and gambling were a heavy part of Arab society. They were heavily in debt because of this and usury was very common.

They were fiercely polytheistic with 360 idols that they used to worship. The three major ones were Al-Lat, Al Uzza and Al-Manat. Because of this, they had very superstitious beliefs and practices involving circumambulating the sacred house naked and in a drunken state. They would sacrifice animals to their Gods and they would eat dead carcasses.

Women:

Women had no rights in this society. They were treated lower then animals. A female was buried alive when she was born because she amounted to no good. Prostitution of the worse kind where many men would enter on a woman and have intercourse with her was prevalent. The child born was attributed to the one the woman would choose from the men that had intercourse with her. So lineages were lost. Adultery was prevalent in their society. Women were inherited after the death of a person. They had no right to inheritance and no rights. Could go on about how bad the situation for women was before the advent of  Islam but I think you get the picture.

Wars:

This was a favorite pastime. Since this society was tribal, everything revolved around loyalty to one’s tribe. They fought for 40 years over some useless affair and never inter-marry. Fighting was very common amongst them over petty and trivial issues. Thus they were never unified and had no political structure of government.

The list is long on the economic and political situation in this era.

The four bad habits that were widespread before the prophet Muhammad (PBUH) are as follows.

Bad habits widespread before Prophet

Prior to the hour of The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), ladies were barely viewed as human. Ladies overall were viewed as items and were dealt with recklessly.

  • In Ancient Greece terms, for example, 'assets' (assets of men) and 'gynes' (carriers of youngsters), were slanderous names given to ladies. Seen as just sexual things, ladies were treated with no substantial, close to home or otherworldly regard. They were not given the option to bargain in legitimate issues, manage cash, war or show any type of astuteness. As per different sources, in different societies ladies were not permitted to accomplish legacy as just men were qualified for it.
  • a long time back, prostitution was inescapable. Females were imagined as 'marvellous however unfilled'; they apparently had no insight and no character. Their substantial humility was ignored as they had to be sex slaves, they were objects of delight. All qualities of a lady, their wills, their life points, their character and their unobtrusiveness were viewed as good for nothing. They were constrained reluctantly to be the sexual things of the ones who erroneously and wrongly selected themselves as their lords.
  • Individuals of Makkah used to rehearse usury for a huge scope with exceptionally exorbitant financing costs - - in some cases 100%. At the point when the account holders couldn't reimburse - - and that was most frequently the situation - - they were oppressed or obliged to compel their spouses and little girls to commit specific sins, to have the option to gather sufficient cash to reimburse the obligation.
  • To put it plainly, wars, carnage, subjugation, abuse of ladies and the denied held influence all over the place might be managed over right. The world was in critical misery however nobody appeared to be equipped for conveying it from murkiness. No religion, philosophy, belief or faction during those times, could offer any desire to the miseries and dissatisfactions of humanity.
