Q1. Tabulate the differences between states of matter on the basis of movement of particles and
rigidity.
Answers
Answer:
Movement of particles :- 1) Solid :- In Solids , the particles are tightly packed because of which their is so small movement that it is considered to be negligible.
2) Liquid:- In liquids, the particles are loosely packed as compared to the solid state but are more closer than the Gas particles. so , they have moderate speed of movement between them .
3) Gas:- In Gaseous state , the particles are very loosely packed due to small force of attraction within the particles. So, they have very high. speed of movement as compared to other two gases .
Rigidity:- 1) In Solids , due to less interparticle spaces ,they donot change their shape but may break under force. so , they are the most rigid in nature .
2) In liquids, due to moderate spaces between particles , they change their shape and take the shape of container in which they are kept . So , they can't be fluid but can be fluid.
3) In gases , due to large interparticle spaces between them , they flow freely and so ,they have very less rigidity but is said to be more fluid than Liquid .
