Q1. The area of a square is 105 m². Find (i)the length (ii) the perimeter of the square to 3 significant figures?​

Answer:

Length =(10.5±0.2)

Breadth =(5.2±0.1)

l=10.5

δl=0.2

b=5.2

δb=0.1

perimeter P=2(l+b)

=2(10.5+5.2)

=2(15.7)

=31.4 cm

Absolute error in perimeter =δP=±2(δl+δb)

=±2(0.2+0.1)

=±2(0.3)

=±0.6cm

Perimeter with error limits

(P±δP)=(31.4±0.6)cm

i)

area \: of \: sq. \:  =  105{m}^{2}  \\ formula , \\ A =  {a}^{2}  \\ 105 =  {a}^{2}  \\  a =  \sqrt{105}  \\ a = 10.247 \:m .

ii)

formula ,

p = 4a \\ p =( 4 \times 10.247)m \\ p =40.988 \: m.
