Answer:

A has non metallic character

B has metallic character

FORMULA

AB

ionic bond

A will be oxidizing B

HERE A has 4 electrons in the valance shell or u can say in 2p orbital

it will gain 2 electrons to attain stability and completely fill 2p orbital as acceptors are non metals ..hence A IS NON METALLIC IN NATURE

while B will donate 2 electrons from 3s orbital to become stable

METALS ARE ELECTRON DONORS hence B is a metal

here both have valency 2 each

hence formula is AB

AS plus 2 of B is balanced by -2 of A

as bonds are formed due to give and take of electrons ..bond is due electro static force of attraction with is strong ionic bond

as A GAINS ELECTRONS FROM METAL IT OXIDIZES IT TO FORM METAL OXIDES
