Q1- Why do silk farmers allow only a small percentage of pupae to develope into moths?

Silk is obtained at pupa stage and pupa is obtained by the development of eggs. Silk farmer allow only a small percentage of pupas to develop into moths because a large % of pupa is used to obtain silk and very small % of it develops into moths so that they can again get eggs from moths.
