Q1. Why is the bond angle of PH3 molecule lesser than that in NH3 molecule?

Answer:

In ammonia sp3 hybridization occurs .So its bond angle should have been 109°28' . But due to the presence of lone pair it is slightly less. So it was expected that the angle in PH3 will also be approximately same. But , it was found to be around 90°
