  • To point out things and also stand for the thing that is pointed out.  
  • The demonstrative pronoun are this , that , these and those.

Note :-

~Here, you may notice that demonstrative pronouns and demonstrative adjectives mainly looks same but there’s a difference –  

  • Demonstrative pronouns are not used before any noun as pronouns are used in place of noun not with noun.  
  • Demonstrative adjectives are used before noun as adjectives are used to  qualify  the nouns.
