Crocodiles belongs to the class called Reptilia.

Four reasons of why the crocodiles are not considered as amphibian are given below :

1. The skin of amphibians do not have scales while the reptiles have scales. Since crocodiles has scales on their body, so they are considered as reptiles and not amphibians.

2. Also, the development that occurs in amphibians is indirect but the development in reptiles is direct. Since the development in crocodiles is direct, so they are reptiles.

3. Also, unlike the amphibians, the crocodiles has a dry and cornified type of skin.

4. Fertilisation in crocodiles occurs internally whereas the amhibians fertilizes externally.
