Q10. If the length of a certain rectangle is decreased by 4 cm and the width is increased by 3 cm. a square with the same area as the original rectangle would result. Find the perimeter of the original rectangle. ​

Let length =l length =ω⇒

(1)l−4=ω+3...(1)

⇒l=ω+7

(2)l.ω=(l−4)(ω+3)

(ω+7)(ω)=(ω+3)

ω=9⇒l=16

∴ Perimeter =2(l+ω)

=2(9+16)=2×25

=50m
