Q10:If the sizes of the triangle of a are (x-35), (x -25)and (1/2x-10)find the value of x.

x  = 100°

(x - 35) + (x - 25) + (1/2 x - 10) = 180°      (Angle Sum Property)

Remove Brackets

⇒  x - 35 + x - 25 + 1/2 x - 10 = 180°

Adding 35 on both sides

⇒  x - 35 + x - 25 + 1/2 x - 10 + 35 = 180° + 35

⇒  x + x - 25 + 1/2 x - 10  = 215°

Adding 25 on both sides

⇒  x + x - 25 + 1/2 x - 10 + 25  = 215° + 25

⇒  2x + 1/2 x - 10  = 240°

Adding 10 on both sides

⇒  2x + 1/2 x - 10 + 10  = 240° + 10

⇒  2x + 1/2 x   = 250°

Multiply both sides by 2

⇒  2x * 2 + 1/2 x * 2  = 250° * 2

⇒  4x + 1x  = 500°

⇒  5x  = 500°

⇒  x  = 500° /5

⇒  x  = 100°
