Q10. In a parallelogram ABCD, AE is the altitude corresponding to the side BC. CF is the altitude corresponding
to the side AB. If BC = 25cm, AE = 15cm, CD = 20cm. Find CF.

Answer:

We Know That, the area of the parallelogram is the product of its base and the corresponding altitude.

If we take BC as base and AE as altitude, area of the parallelogram is 25 x 15 = 375 sq.cm >>> 1

If we take CD as base and CF as altitude, area of the parallelogram is 20 x CF sq.cm >>> 2

The area of the parallelogram will be same in both the cases.

So,

375 = 20 x CF

=> CF = 375/20

=> CF = 18.75 cm
