Explanation:

(a) When a tree is shaken,the tree moves to and fro while the fruits and leaves remain in their state of rest on account of their inertia and thus fruits and leaves separate from the tree and fall from the tree.

(b)To minimize the rate of change of momentum, △t must increase, therefore by pulling his hands back, the fielder is increasing the time in which the momentum becomes zero, and thereby reducing the force exerted on his hands

(c)To conserve the momentum, when sailor jumps forward, boat moves in backward direction because momentum is vector quantity. Finally magnitude of the sailor and the boat is same so they are moving in opposite direction , net final momentum is zero , so this proves the law of conservation of linear momentum.
