Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

A tin of biscuits contains 20 cream biscuits and 35 glucose biscuits. and there is in the

parcel contain 160 cream biscuits.

To find:-

Find the number of glucose biscuits ?

Solution:-

Number of cream biscuits in a tin = 20

Number of glucose biscuits in the tin = 35

Ratio of the cream biscuits to glucose biscuits in the tin of biscuits

= 20:35

=> 20/35

=> (4×5)/(5×7)

=> 4/7

=> 4:7

Let the number of glucose biscuits tins in the parcel be X

The number of cream biscuits tins in the parcel = 160

Their ratio = 160:X

Number of tins in the parcel increase then the number of glucose biscuits also increases

They are in proportion.

4:7 = 160:X

Product of means = 7×160 = 1120

Product of extremes = 4×X = 4X

In the Proportion

Product of extremes= Product of means

=> 4X = 1120

=>X = 1120/4

=>X = 280

The number of glucose biscuits = 280

Answer:-

The number of glucose biscuits =280 for the given problem

Used formulae:-

In the Proportion ,

Product of extremes= Product of means
