Q11. Ashish plants a daffodil on his 9 th birthday. If the plant has one daffodil to
start with and the number of daffodils doubles every week then how many
daffodils will be there after x weeks?

number of daffodils on the first week= 1

on the second week = 2

and on the third week and after = 4....8....16 and so on

so 2 to the power (number of week) divided by 2 satisfies the equation

eg- 2²÷2= 2²-¹= 2¹= 2

2¹-¹=2⁰=1 first week

2²-¹= 2¹= 2 second week

2³-¹= 2²= 4 third week

2⁴-¹= 2³= 8 fourth week

Thus, for x week

2^(x-¹) will give the number of daffodils.
