Step-by-step explanation:

let numerator be x

therefore,denominator=x+4

now, according to question=x-2/x+4+1=x-2/(x-2)×8

x-2/x+5=x-2/8x-16

x-2 has been cancelled

therefore,x+5=8x-16

x-8x=-5-16

-7x=-21

x=-21/-7

x=3

=3-2/8×3-16

1/24-16

ans=1/8. numerator=1 and denominator=8
