Total amount of water in the bottle = 5 L

Fraction of water consumed by Vidya = 2/5

Answer -

(i) Vidya drank 2/5 of the total water.

Vidya drank = 2/5 of 5L = 2 L

Therefore, Vidya consumed 2 L of water.

(ii) Pratap consumed the remaining water.

Fraction of water consumed by Pratap = 1 - 2/5 = 5/5 - 2/5 = 3/5

Therefore, Pratap consumed 3/5 of the total water.
