Solution :

\underline{\bf{Given\::}}

Ravi purchased an old scooter for Rs.12000 & spent Rs.2850 on it's repair. Then he sold it to his friend Rs.13860.

\underline{\bf{Explanation\::}}

Ravi purchased an old scooter, (C.P) = Rs.12000

Spent on scooter for repair, (C.P) = Rs.2850

Total Cost price of an old scooter = Rs.12000 + Rs.2850 = Rs.14850

A/q

C.P. > S.P

As we know that formula of the loss ;

\mapsto\sf{Loss=Cost\:price - Selling\:price }\\\\\mapsto\sf{Loss=Rs.14850 - Rs.13860}\\\\\mapsto\sf{Loss = Rs.990}

As we know that formula of the loss % ;

\boxed{\bf{Loss\:\% =\bigg( \frac{Loss\times 100}{C.P} \bigg)\%}}

\mapsto\sf{Loss\:\% = \bigg(\dfrac{\cancel{990} \times 100}{\cancel{14850}} \bigg)\%}\\\\\\\mapsto\sf{Loss\:\% =\cancel{ \bigg(\dfrac{100}{15} \bigg)} \%}\\\\\\\mapsto\bf{Loss\:\% = 6.66\%}

Thus;

The Loss percent will be 6.66% .
