Sadhika purchased a food processing machine for Rs 3,000 from ‘Kajal Machinery Pvt Ltd’. She found that the machine was not working properly. Despite many complaints, the defect was not rectified by ‘Kajal Machine Pvt. Ltd.’

• [1] In the above mentioned case, Right to seek redressal under Consumer Protection Act, 1986 has been violated by 'Kajal Machinery Pvt Ltd.'

• [2] Sadhika can make her complain against 'Kajal Machinery Pvt Ltd.' in District Forum if the value of the food processing machine in question, along with the compensation claimed, does not exceed Rs. 20 lakhs. It is because, District Forum deals with cases not exceeding Rs. 20 Lakhs.

• [3] No, Sandhika can't directly appeal to the supreme court even if she is not satisfied with the order of District forum. In case, she is not satisfied with the decision by District Forum, she can go for State commission with in 30 days of order. If she is not satisfied with the order of State Commission, then she can go to appeal in National Commission and then to the Supreme Court.
