Answer:

13.a) His temperature when he woke                   =  102°F

       After two hours,temperature that redueced =  3°F

       His temperature was                                       =(102 - 3)°F = 99°F

    b) Money in her account                          = $47

         Money she writes(takes)                     = $55

         Josie's balance                                    = 47 - 55 = $−8

14.i) 21 - 12 ÷ 3 × 2

     = 21 - \frac{12}{3} × 2

     = 21 - 4 × 2

     = 21 - 8

     = 13

  ii) 16 + 8 ÷ 4 - 2 × 3

     = 16 + \frac{8}{4} - 2 × 3

     = 16 + 2 - 2 × 3

     = 16 + 2 -6

     = 16 - 4

     = 12

  iii) (-2) + (-8) ÷ (-4)

     = (-2) + (\frac{-8}{-4} )

     = (-2) + (2)

     = 0

   iv) (-3) + (-8) ÷ (-4) × (-2)

      = (-3) + (\frac{-8}{-4} ) × (-2)

      = (-3) + (2) × (-2)

      = (-3) + (-4)

      = (-7)

15.  The sum of two integers = 116

      One of them                    = -79

      The other integer            = 116 - (-79)

                                                = 195

16.  Height of A is above sea level                                       = 1800 m

      Place B is below sea level                                             = 700 m

Difference between the levels of places A and B are =1800−(−700)

                                                                                                =1800+700

                                                                                                =2500 m
