a). Wool is an insulating material that protects the animal from cold environment. Shearing is usually done in summer because sheep do not require insulating material in summer and it helps the animal to sustain easily in summer as well.

b). The most common health and safety hazards identified in the wool shed that can affect you are: sprains and strains, wrist and back problems, cuts and bruising, fatigue and dehydration. Some more serious health hazards are: wool based infections, giardia, leptospirosis, hepatitis, tetanus, dermatitis and noise.
