Q15. A rectangular lawn is 40 m by 30 m. It has two
roads of 2m wide running in the middle one parallel to
the length and the other parallel to the breadth. Find
the area of the roads.​

Then EFGH is the region common to both of roads.

∴ Area of two roads = Area ABCD + Area PQRS - Area EFGH

= (20 × 3) m

= 81 m

Hence the area of the cross roads is 81 m
