Distance travelled towards west will be represented by negative integer.

As she moved 240 km towards east then 190 km towards west, her final position must be towards right of A. This position will be denoted by (240-190) km = 50 km

Thus, she is 50 km from her initial position A.

Hope it helped :)

According to the no. line Rita moves towards east is represented by positive and west is represented by negative integer

Distance fro A to B = 240 Km

Distance from B to C = 190 km

Distance from A to C = 240 - 190

Rita is at final position from A to C is = 50 km
