The quantity of lemonade in bottle Q is  2 Litre if Bottle Q contains one third more lemonade than bottle P and Bottle P contains 1.5 litres of lemonade.

Given:

  • Bottle P contains 1.5 litres of lemonade.
  • Bottle Q contains one third more lemonade than bottle P.

To Find;

  • The quantity of lemonade in bottle Q

Solution:

Step 1:

Find quantity of lemonade in bottle Q

Bottle Q quantity = Bottle P quantity  +  one third of Bottle P quantity

Bottle Q quantity = Bottle P quantity  + (1/3) Bottle P quantity

Step 2:

Substitute Bottle P quantity = 1.5 Litre

Bottle Q quantity = 1.5   + (1/3) 1.5

Bottle Q quantity = 1.5   + 0.5

Bottle Q quantity = 2 Litre

Hence, The quantity of lemonade in bottle Q is  2 Litre
