Therefore, by applying section formula:-

 \frac{ 1 \times 5 + m \times ( - 1)}{m + 1} = 0 \:  \:  \:  \: ....(1)

and

 \frac{1 \times ( - 6) + m \times ( - 4)}{m + 1}  = k \:  \:  \:  \: ....(2)

from equation 1

 =  > m = 5

putting value of m in equation 2

k =  \frac{ - 26}{6}  =   \frac{ - 13}{3}
