$as \: given \: \alpha \times \beta = 4$

$we \: know \: that \: \alpha \times \beta = \frac{c}{a}$

$4 = \frac{ - 6}{a}$

$a = \frac{ - 6}{4}$

$a = \frac{ - 3}{2}$
