The Green revolution was introduced to the farmers because:
- In 1965, the first (HYV) seeds were brought into Indian agriculture, starting off with the Green Revolution. To increase the production, this was paired with quicker and more efficient irrigation and the appropriate use of fertilizer.
- Its objective was to reduce food shortages in poor countries. It was also known as the Wheat Revolution. Indian farmers are more likely to plant wheat and rice utilising high yielding kinds of seeds, irrigation, chemical fertilisers, insecticides, and pesticides as just a consequence of the Green Revolution.
