A cyclist moving along a circular path of radius 63m completes 3 rounds in 3
minutes. Calculate:
(1) Total distance covered by the cyclist.
(ii) Net displacement.​

Answer:

(a) Total distance covered 

s = 2πr × t 

s = 2πr × 3 

= 2 × 22 / 7 × 63 × 3 

= 1188 m

 

(b) Displacement = zero 

(c) Speed = Distance covered / time taken 

= 1188 / 180 = 6.6  m / s 

( ∵ 3 min = 3 × 60 = 180 sec )
