Q) Given that the sets A = {f , a , c , e} and B = {e , g , d , f } are subsets of Universal set U = { a , b , c , d , e , f , g }

List the elements of :

  1. A'
  2. B'
  3. ( A \cap B )

{\huge{\underline{\underline{\rm{Answer\checkmark}}}}}

Concept :

Set - A collection of well defined and distinct objects .

Complement of set : It is the set of all the elements present in Universal set except the element present in that set .

Intersection of sets : In intersection , we take all the common elements that belong to both the sets .

 \\

We have :

  • A = { f , a , c , e }
  • B = { e , g , d , f }
  • U = { a , b , c , d , e , f , g }

To Find :

  1. A'
  2. B'
  3. (A \cap B)

Solution :

1st ) A'

A' = all the elements of U except those of A

A' = { b , d , g }

 \\

2nd ) B'

B' = all the elements of U except those of B

B' = { a , b , c }

 \\

3rd ) [tex]\bold{A\;{\cap}\;B}[/tex]

A \cap B = All the common elements of A and B

\bold{A\;{\cap}\;B} = { e , f }

 \\  \\

So , this is the required answer !
