Answer :-

  • The ratios are :-
  • i) 7 : 10.
  • ii) 3 : 7.
  • iii) 10 : 3.

Given :-

  • The income of a man is Rs 6000 and his expenses are Rs 1800.

To find :-

  • The ratio of :-

  • i) Amount of savings to income.
  • ii) Expenses to savings.
  • iii) Income to expenses.

Step-by-step explanation :-

Before finding out the ratios, we have to find his savings, because it has not been given to us.

Now,

The man's income = Rs 6000.

Expenses = Rs 1800.

We know that :-

 \underline{ \fbox{Savings = Income - Expenditure.}}

Therefore,

His savings = Rs 6000 - Rs 1800 = Rs 4200.

Thus,

Income = Rs 6000.

Expenses = Rs 1800.

Savings = Rs 4200.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Now, let's find the ratios, since we know his savings.

Ratio of :-

i) Amount of savings to income :-

 \tt \dfrac{42 \!\!\!\not0 \!\!\!\not0}{60 \!\!\!\not0 \!\!\!\not0}

Cutting off the zeroes,

  \tt\dfrac{42}{60}

Reducing the numbers,

 \tt \dfrac{7}{10}  = 7 : 10.

So, the ratio is 7 : 10.

ii) Expenses to savings :-

  \tt\dfrac{18 \!\!\!\not0 \!\!\!\not0}{42 \!\!\!\not0\!\!\! \not0}

Cutting off the zeroes,

 \tt \dfrac{18}{42}

Reducing the numbers,

 \tt \dfrac{3}{7}  = 3 : 7.

So, the ratio is 3 : 7.

iii) Income to expenses :-

 \tt \dfrac{60 \!\!\!\not0 \!\!\!\not0}{18 \!\!\!\not0 \!\!\!\not0}

Cutting off the zeroes,

 \tt\dfrac{10}{3}  = 10: 3.

So, the ratio is 10 : 3.
