This affects the immune system of the body due to the decrease in the number of T-lymphocytes in the body. AIDS can be diagnosed by the ELISA (Enzyme Linked Immuno Sorbent Assay) test.

Cholera is caused by the bacteria Vibroio cholerae. It can cause severe diarrhoea in the infected person and it can even lead to death due to dehydration.

Elephantiasis of filariasis is caused by the worms belonging to the species W.bancrofti and W.malayi. This disease affects the lymphatic vessels and the genitals of the infected person. It spreads through the vector, Culex mosquito.
