Heterotrophs are also of two types; phytotoheterotrophs and chemoheterotrophs. Autotrophs are mostly plants, algae, and some bacteria. Heterotrophs are mostly animals, fungi, and some bacteria. Photosynthesis acts as the major metabolic pathway for the production of energy.
