Q2: The length of a pendulum is (1.5 + 0.01)m and
the acceleration due to gravity is taken into account
as (9.8 + 0.1)ms?. Calculate the time period of the
pendulum with uncertainty in it.

Answer: 2.45 + 0.8%

Explanation:

% of l =0.01 / 1.5 * 100 %

= 0.67%

% of g= 0.1 / 9.8 * 100%

=1.02 %

total % age = 0.67+1.02 % = 1.69%

As k = 2 pi and is constant

 

% of uncertainity= 1/2 (1.69%)

=  0.8 %

T =  

T = 2.45
