The value of d is 39

Step-by-step explanation:

Ratio of marked price in shop P and Q =7:5

Let the prices be 7x and 5x

Selling Price of shop P = 7x(1-0.1)(1-0.25)=7x*0.9*0.75

Selling price of Shop Q = 5x(1-0.1)(1-d/100)=5x(0.9)(1-d/100)

According to the question

7x*0.9*0.75 - 5x(0.9)(1-d/100) = 7x*0.9*0.75*44/105

=>7x*0.9*0.75-7x*0.9*0.75*44/105 =5x(0.9)(1-d/100)

=>7*0.75 - 7*0.75*44/105 = 5*(1-d/100)

=> 7*0.75(105-44)/105 = 5*(1-d/100)

=>7*75*61/(105*100)=5*(1-d/100)

=>1-d/100 = 61/(20*5)

=>d/100 = 1-61/100

=>d=39
