Q2. Two displacement with magnitude of 10m and 12m can be combined to form resultant vectors with many different magnitude. Which of the following magnitude can result from the two displacements? 22m, 2m, 30.9m, 15.6m. For the possible resultants what angle exist between the original displacements

Case: 1

• If the displacements are parallel (0° angle between them)

Then, R = 10+12

R = 22 m

Case: 2

• If the displacements are antiparallel (180° angle between them)

Then, R = 12 - 10

R = 2 m

Case: 3

• If the displacements are perpendicular (90° angle between them):

Then, R² = 12² + 10² (By Pythagoras Theorem)

R = 15.6 m

Resultants greater than 22 m are not possible.
