Hey there!!!!

@ Merchants moved towards the countryside because:

=>> Merchants wanted to expand their production so as to meet the growing needs of the population and therefore to decided to move to the countryside.

=>> In towns, trade guilds exercised excessive control and regulated price of the commodities. They also restricted the entry of new people into trade practises.

=>> Trade guilds exercised monopoly rights over production and to trade in specific products. Thus, it became difficult for new merchants to set up business in towns.

=>> Conditions in the country side proved favourable for the merchants to look for and provide money to the peasants and artisans to produce for the international market and develop a network of commercial exchanges.

Hope it helped!!!?!!!!!!!!!!!☺️
