Sir
I wish to bring to your kind attention that I reside in a posh sector of Dwarka and am a retired old lady. There is a dumping yard of garbage about 50 metres away from my apartment. Earlier, the garbage used to be picked up from all nearby societies and placed in a closed container in that corner. Every morning, the MCD truck would come, remove the garbage from the container, and leave the empty container for disposal of garbage. Over a period of time, the container had rusted and a month ago, it was taken away for repairs or replacement; however, it has not come back yet.
It has now become a regular feature that the garbage is strewn on the road, emanating foul smell. Moreover, the stray dogs and cows also feed on them and spread the remains on the road. The situation becomes worse during the rainy season and at night-time because of the wind, when this nauseating stench in the air makes it difficult to even breathe. This stink from garbage rolling on the street is so intolerable that the children have stopped going to the nearby park.
I appeal to the authorities to address this issue at the earliest and have the garbage container placed there and have it regularly picked up, as earlier.
Yours truly
Mayur
