Part 1) Government of India Act

Year: 1858

The 1857 Mutiny showed the incompetency of the ruling the British East India Company. The Government of India Act of the year 1858 issued by the British Parliament shifted the power to rule from the Company to the Crown [The Queen of Britain]. From then on all the acts, rules etc. had to be approved by the British monarchy government before being implemented.

Part 2) Morley - Minto Reforms

Year: 1909

Also known as the Indian Councils Act of 1909, the Morley - Minto reforms was passed by the British Parliament that allowed Indians to take part in the various councils of the British Ministry. It also allowed Indians to participate in legislative elections though there were specifications and separations on the basis of religion.

Part 3) Simon Commission:

Year: 1928

The Simon Commission which is also known as the Indian Statuary Commission was a group of 7 members of the British Parliament under the leadership of Sir John Simon to analyze and make a report of the constitutional reforms and the various more policies and laws that can be implemented in the country. It wanted to study the effects of the Indian Constitution made after the Government of India Act.
