Part 1) Government of India Act
Year: 1858
The 1857 Mutiny showed the incompetency of the ruling the British East India Company. The Government of India Act of the year 1858 issued by the British Parliament shifted the power to rule from the Company to the Crown [The Queen of Britain]. From then on all the acts, rules etc. had to be approved by the British monarchy government before being implemented.

Also known as the Indian Councils Act of 1909, the Morley - Minto reforms was passed by the British Parliament that allowed Indians to take part in the various councils of the British Ministry.
