Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let son's age 5 years ago was=x years

therefore father's sge wss 7 times =7x

accordingly their present ages should be

son=x+5 years

father=7x+5 years……(1)

sons age 5 years hence=x+5+5=x+10 years

but atq fathers age will be 3 times his son's in 5 years

So father's age will be 3(x+10)

Accordingly father's present age will be =3(x+10)-5=3x+25 years

But fathers present age is also =7x+5 years……………(2)

Equating equations 1 and 2

7x+5=3x+25

7x-3x=25–5

4x=20

x=20/4=5 years

So sons age 5 years ago was 5years

And fathers age was =7x=7×5=35 years

And son's present age is =5+5=10 years

Father's present age is =35+5=40 years

Son's age 5 years hence=10+5=15 years

Fathers age 5 years hence=40+5=45 years

15×3=45

Hence father's age will be 3 times his son's age in 5 years.
