Answer:

Numbers are 10 & 5

Step-by-Step-Explanation:

Let the required numbers are a and b.

sum of numbers = 15

→ a + b = 15

→ a = 15 -b

According to question- 2 times of a exceeds 5 from three times of b.

→ 2 times of a = 5 + ( 3 times of b )

→ 2a = 3b + 5

→ 2( 15 - b ) = 3b + 5

→ 30 - 2b = 3b + 5

→ 5 = b

Hence the first numbers is 15 - 5 = 10

Answer:

Let the two numbers be x and y.

A/c " Sum of two numbers is 15 "

⇒ x + y = 15 ... (1)

A/c " Two times of the first exceeds  by 5 from the three times of

the other "

⇒ 2x = 5 + 3y

⇒ 2x - 3y = 5 ...(2)

By solving (1) & (2) , i.e., 3*(1)+(2) , we get ,

⇒ 3( x + y ) + 2x - 3y = 3(15) + 5

⇒ 3x + 3y + 2x - 3y = 45 + 5

⇒ 5x = 50

\bold{\bf{\red{x = 10}}}

sub. x value in (1) , we get ,

⇒ y = 15 - 10

\bold{\bf{\blue{y = 5}}}

So , the numbers are 10 & 5

i.e., option B. 10,5
