Given :  The Area Sales Manager of a sales team of 11 members is 40 years old and the SR. TSI is 2 years older. the ages of these two are excluded, the average age of the remaining team members is one year less than the average age of the whole team

To find : the average age of the team

Solution:

Let say Age of 11  people  = A

Total Age of 11 Persons = 11A

Manger 40 year old

Sr. TSI  is 40 + 2 = 42 year old

Age of remaining 9  =  11A  - 40 - 42

= 11A - 82

average age of the remaining team members is one year less than the average age of the whole team.

=> 11 A - 82  =  9(A - 1)

=> 11A - 82 = 9A - 9

=> 2A  = 73

=> A = 36.5

Average age of team = 36. 5   Years
