According to Markownikoff's rule, (-ve) part of adding molecule associate with carbon having less number of Hydrogen.

Addition of HBr is an electrophilic addition reaction and in such type of reactions, Markownikoff's rule holds true.

27. In Kharash effect, net addition of Br⁻ at pi bond takes place opposite to Markownikoff's rule without rearrangement i.e. (-ve) part attach on carbon having more number of hydrogen atom.
