let the three consecutive numbers of multiple of 3 be ( x) , (x + 3) , (x +3+3)

given number is multiple of 3 so the difference in each number is 3

so equation is

x + x+ 3 + x + 6 = 72

3x + 9 =72

3x = 72-9

3x= 63

x= 21

second number = 21+3 =24

third number = 21+3+3= 27

then the second largest number will be 24
