Gurgaon. She notices that the workers have low morale.
Workers have been working from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. works
schedule for the last two years but were facing heavy traffic
during office hours which had increased their transportation
time. She took the permission from directors and placed her
office in flexi time. She explained the rules carefully to her
subordinates. All the employees were to work during the core
period from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m..However, they could work the
rest of the four hours at any time between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00
p.m..Renu believed her workers were honest and well
motivated. Everything went on well for a long time, morale
was high and employees were satisfied with good outcomes.
After six months, the chief factory manager found that renu's
workers were averaging 7 hours a day. Two employees had
been working only during the course period for more than 2
months. When Renu'adepartmental head received the factory
managers report, the office withdrew Flexi hours.Renu was
upset and disappointed. She trusted her workers and felt that
they had let her down.
