The constitution of India empowers the supreme court of India to adjudicate disputes between the centre and the states through original jurisdiction.

According to the original jurisdiction, the higher court such as the supreme court in India can review the decisions of lower courts, and they can also remove the disputes between state and central.

This is opposite of the appellate jurisdiction.
